Wake up call

So Selena Gomez had her concert here in Malaysia yesterday. I did not go of course was staying in the office till late like a good girl (my parents stalk me). Hahaha, seriously I did not go, not that big of a fan. Anyway, that got me thinking about what am I doing with my life. I mean looking at another girl my age taking over the world and achieving so much did get me slightly intimidated. I mean seriously, what the heck am I doing with my life?

I look like a rotten tomato next to this one

So just as I was analyzing the areas which I have upside over the little-miss-perfect Gomez, my colleague announced ‘Hey Nadia, we are going to be replaced by Pepper!’. Pepper is a robot meant to put us, client facing humans out of job. So yeah, here he is.

I look like a rotten tomato next to this one too!

That’s it, just as I thought I’m making contributions despite not being a Selena, I got beaten hard by the truth that I am partially replaceable. I mean, not like Pepper can (at this point thinking very hard of things that robots can’t do)……(google ‘what robots cannot do’)……(ended up with many more articles and stats showing that robots will take over the world)….

*weep silently in a corner*

Just as I was wiping my tears and heading to the shopping mall to make myself feel better, my phone beeped. It was an SMS by 63633 saying ‘ Hurry Nadia Ismadi! You’re entitled to get 6 free slimming treatments and FREE GIFT from xyz slimming!’…..

This is how bankruptcy amongst young women started: Selena Gomez, robots and slimming offer.
