to talk about doing one thing at a time and organising things (this is usually how I draft my blog post titles to remind me what I want to talk about but today I’m making this the published title). #rebel

Welcome to my life. This is me on a daily basis:

Yes, while organising my Trello board, studying user cohort analysis, replying emails (more like drowning in emails), reading the news (more like drowning with the news), tweaking pithcdecks to send to several partners; I also was looking at kimchi jiggae recipe for dinner. I am telling you it’s madness.

So in the effort to be monotasking (the opposite of multitasking, as the name would suggest), I used this web plugin that combines a to-do list and a pomodoro timer. It helps me stay on course doing one thing at a time for 20 mins and 5 mins break in between. I can also track how many 20 mins blocks have been spent on certain task. This helps to kill any inclination to procrastinate (or read something completely irrelevant like why is time the measure of life) while I am doing something incredibly boring but essential (like filing my taxes).

So, if you are drowning with a billion and one tabs open on your laptop, with a gazillion more tabs open in your mind; I suggest you go ahead and get the plugin. And no, I am not getting paid to say nice things about them. Just a user who found something useful and would love to share it with others who might find this useful too.

Good luck to you and happy mono-tasking!
